The different type of Banker!
After completing his master’s degree in Management from Bhola Government College, Md. Farhad Hossain came to Dhaka searching for a job in the banking sector. He also wanted to study for MBA. Reality, however, was harsh and he was unable to get a job with his academic qualifications. Moreover, it was hard for his family to bear his monthly expenditure in Dhaka. Farhad became frustrated and demoralized. His goal of becoming a banker appeared to be an impossible dream.
One of his cousins advised Farhad to try for the IDB-BISEW IT Scholarship. Without knowing anything about IT, he applied and was selected and enrolled in Round –12 of the scjolarship programme. He quickly realized the importance of the scholarship and became devoted to it. Finally, he was able to complete the Database Design & Development course successfully in 2012 and became an IDB-BISEW graduate with OCP certification from Oracle Corporation.
Just after completing the course, Farhad joined Mysoft Limited as a Software Engineer with an initial monthly salary of Tk. 10,000. Gradually he gained confidence and began looking for jobs related to banking. He joined Millennium Information Solution Ltd in 2013 as a Software Engineer with a monthly salary of Tk. 16,000 and worked in the company’s banking solution software ABABIL. This experience proved critical because after only six months he joined EXIM Bank as a Trainee Officer (IT). At EXIM Bank Farhad developed and managed in-house software such as Credit Information Management System (CIB), Credit Limit Register (Investment), Dispatch System, Scholarship Management System, MIS, various oracles based software and also carried out database administration tasks successfully. As the reword, he got a promotion and is currently working as Officer (IT) at a monthly salary of around Tk. 50,000.
The IT Scholarship brought a remarkable change to Farhad ’s life. His academic background combined with his IT skills has made him a successful and confident person who enjoys working with banking software. Now only the sky is the limit for Md. Farhad Hossain.
